political tomfoolery

like a dummy

Posted on September 20, 2007. Filed under: medium ramble, political tomfoolery |

…I killed my morning buzz by reading some news stuff today & watching a popular video going around the Internet, involving John Kerry, some college kid & Greg Palast’s latest book.  “Armed Madhouse.”
Which I’ve read. Fortunately, I didn’t bring the book with me & go hear John Kerry speak.
Although I did go wait in the [...]

in defense of Britney…

All I did was respond…that her performance seemed mediocre & she looked a bit buzzed.
But, that the performance wasn’t horrible like everyone keeps saying.
(To be fair, I’ve always defended some of Britney’s music. And, have always been told by wifeybot that I defend any young woman, wearing risque clothing, shaking her booty.
Which is true, sort of. [...]

the world gets a mulligan….

…IMHO, … with the first interest rate cut in 4 years in the U.S.
Half a percent. To 4.75%.
The first cut in over 4 years.
Now we just need more people to realize it’s an expanding Universe.
But, also,…
… we need honest, transparent  government regulation within the financial markets worldwide,
as we unravel and sort out this financial derivative [...]

Am I just spinnin’ my own wheels?

Posted on September 14, 2007. Filed under: financial babble, political tomfoolery, the long ramble |

…and I don’t mean like the cool spinnin’ rims on “Cribs” and “Pimp My Ride.”
As I speak in metaphor, mine are sort of squeaking; and only perhaps 3 of the 4 are spinning in the same direction.
Anyway.
My kids are home today in solidarity with a city-wide Tucson teachers’ strike
(aka “sick out”,…or whatever one might call it.)
Over [...]

she had to say Hitchens

Why not just poke a bear in the belly button with a javelin?
…Not a good way to start a conversation first thing in the morning.
She being wifeybot.
And, of course, she is loving the new book by Sir Christopher Dipwad.  Cuz it’s all about how there is no God, and believers are stupid, and behind all wars, [...]

i think it’s finally dawned on me

Posted on September 10, 2007. Filed under: financial babble, medium ramble, political tomfoolery |

…that there is a certain element of precariousness to me, that has probably saved my life via outbursts I’ve made upon realizing that all nearby lines were being drawn around me, without my having an opportunity to draw any lines (aka boundaries) for myself. Where the world defines you, and then based on who the [...]

food, sleep, drugs & sex.  …with the radio on.  (roadrunner, roadrunner)
Well, I’m not sure how many noticed but,…last week was a rough week for Wall Street & investors,…unless you bet on things turning to shit.  Then it was golden for you.  I wonder what will happen on Monday,…as in when it gets light out.  Could [...]

the Rubicon has been crossed…

Posted on July 18, 2007. Filed under: medium ramble, political tomfoolery |

Well, I had to look up the expression, even as I was pretty sure I knew what it meant.  And, the expression basically means what I thought it meant.  Now I know there is a book by Michael Ruppert called “Crossing the Rubicon,” in which he basically says Cheney orchestrated the events of September…what was [...]

Crossin’ the border today,…

Posted on July 13, 2007. Filed under: financial babble, political tomfoolery, the long ramble |

…it looks like.  Nogales, Mexico.   Gettin’ a variety of meds for the family.   No smuggling V’s today, though.  V’s as in valium. I’m not up for the extra anxiety, and probably don’t really need any.  Got a few stashed for emergencies, anyway.  Besides, they’re not much fun without adding alcohol, anyway.  And, I’m still on the wagon.  [...]

I gotta stop drinking…

Posted on July 12, 2007. Filed under: financial babble, political tomfoolery, the long ramble |

Well,…it’s official.  I’m gonna quit drinking.  How many times have I said it?  I’d need a fancy calculator to add it up.  Regardless…  I’m gettin’ too old to feel like crap.  Like I felt last night and this morning.  Gotta just stick to smoke.  I don’t really even like beer that much,…but by that third [...]
